Songwriters at the Speakeasy, Jan. 13  7-8:30, at Roxy on Broadway,

Songwriters at the Speakeasy is a new series —started by myself and the mighty Baggs Patrick — that takes place the second and third Tuesday of each month, in the Roxy’s intimate basement “Speakeasy Lounge.” It will showcase the area’s top songwriters performing their compositions in solo fashion for listening audiences.

The debut Jan. 13 show is hosted by me and will feature Halden Wofford, of Colorado’s legendary “Rocky Mountain Honky Tonk” band, Halden Wofford & the Hi Beams. There will also be performances by Baggs Patrick and a guest up & coming singer/songwriter or two.

Admission is free. Dinner is available prior to the show in the Roxy’s main floor bar and dining room. This is a “listening room” show, so talking during performances is discouraged. This room is very cool and quiet, and we hope this series helps fill a hole when it comes to opportunities for area singer/songwriters
